Intercampus Events

Each spring, UFC members meet up with the UFC-equivalent affiliates of sister UC campuses in northern California. Some years we travel from Merced together to another campus, and sometimes they come to our campus. The group of affiliates have lunch together, attend a presentation or academic lecture, and tour parts of the campus being visited.

The 2026 Intercampus Event will be held at UC Berkeley on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Details and registration link are below the graphic. Register by March 11

Enjoy a presentation on groundbreaking AI research, discover the captivating world of the Mark Twain Papers, and be enchanted by Cal Music seniors performing in their stunning new state-of-the-art Wu Performance Hall! See the full agenda below.

Best of all, this day brings together people who love supporting the UC mission, their students, and having fun together!

Featured speakers:

  • Professor Gireeja Ranade, Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, will share insights from her groundbreaking AI research. Prof. Ranade is a researcher with Microsoft Research AI and has earned Berkeley's Award for Extraordinary Teaching in Extraordinary Times.
  • General Editor & Curator Robert (Bob) Hirst, The Mark Twain Papers at The Bancroft Library, will reveal what primary documents and editorial work tell us about this literary giant. Although the Mark Twain Papers arrived at Berkeley in 1949, Bob believes there's still so much more to discover about Twain's enduring humor and surprisingly relevant satire.
  • Talented Cal Student Quartet Performance: After lunch and club updates, we'll stroll through the southside of campus to the new, nationally recognized Wu Performance Hall in the Music Department. Award-winning senior students will perform a chamber concert in a hall praised for its exceptional acoustics and state-of-the-art sound technology.
